You are beginning an exciting and challenging experience and we are eager to help you. To help make your transition as smooth as possible, we have created a set of five (5) steps you must complete online.
Who should complete the five-step process.
Whether you are a new freshman or transfer student, this five-step online process is the required preparation for selecting courses and enrolling for spring 2010.
What the five-step process requires.
- Through this online process you will select appropriate English and math courses (Step One), begin your technology training (Step Two), and sign up for an advising session (Step Three).
- After signing up for an Advising Session, you should complete the remaining steps to select your health insurance coverage and begin learning how to manage your financial responsibilities.
Why you need to complete Steps One, Two and Three right away.
- You can only register for classes after attending an Advising Session.
- You can only sign up for an Advising Session using the online system.
- There are only a few Advising Sessions this year. (December ) One Late Advising Session will be offered just before spring classes begin on January 13, 2010.
- Seats at each advising sessions are limited and sessions will be closed when they are filled.
- Classes for spring are already filling. Several classes will be closed if you delay your enrollment until 2010.
What you need to do next.
- Complete the first three steps now.
- Sign up for the EARLIEST ADVISING SESSION that you can attend.
- Complete the remaining two steps before attending an advising session.

You will understand better as you become more familiar with our educational expectations. Entering students must demonstrate these basic computer technology skills as part of their General Educational Competency Requirements. You also will be preparing for a successful first semester at UConn, because here you will find all course enrollments, communications, student services, financial aid, billing and student records are online functions. |
